Awesome, received my custom ordered 712 AP2 5-pw Project X 5.0, 1 degree strong lofts, 1/2 inch over standard, late November. Weather has been mid 50's here in the Northeast, so out to the range, and all I can say is UNBELIEVABLE !!!!! Great feel, sound, and control. Can not remember ever hitting the ball this well, the new AP2's are more forgiving than prior models.

    Thanks Titleist !!!!

Cameron, i posted a question last week but did not address anyone in particular. I have 712 AP2's PX 6.0, +1/4", 1 degree up, when clubs are ordered, are there variances in the specs & if measured 1 degree up, should that be every club in the bag. It seems like some of the clubs are wearing out on the toe a bit, moslty the short irons. Thanks for your help

    Steven,

There is a tolerance of +/- 1 with the swing weight only.  The lie angles should all be 1* up as requested.  If for some reason they aren't, then we will bring them in and make the corrections for you.  You will just need to take them to an authorized Titleist retailer, where they can be sent in and we will expedite them back to you one corrected.

Let me know if you have any questions or issues with the situation.

    Hey Bruce-

Great irons aren't they!  I'm curious how you like the Proj X 5.0 shafts?

I received my 712 AP2 with Nippon NS Pro 105T Stiff, 1-deg strong, std length.  Great feel to these too.

  7. Hi guys,

I am 5,9' tall and bought standard length AP2 w/ Project X 5.5, not knowing custom-order is possible.

When I address, I feel like the toe of club head gets lifted up a bit from the grass. My arms are kind of short too..if I custom-order and make the shaft a bit shorter, would that change swing weights and stiffness of shaft by a lot? How much should I cut?

I don't reccomend shorter shafts because you said you were 5,9" and had shorter arms. I am 5,5" and am just starting to play regular length shafts with a standard lie. I reccomend you bend the lie 1* or 2* flat which will get the toe to sit down. Standard length shafts are generally what a guy your height should play. A custom sole grind might help too. If you are too bent over at address, this might be why. With that advice I do not reccomend that you change your setup position because that can send your swing out of whack. Generally it is a better idea to have your equipment change because of your swing, not change your swing because of equipment. Hope this helps
  9. Bret, thank you so much for your advice. I don't want to bend over too much but I kind of have to in order for the toe and hill to lie flat on the grass. Now, how do I bend the lie? Does golf shops like Golfgalaxy do the job..? Also, bending the lie wouldn't change anything else right?

I feel like thre are a lot of guesses going on here, please do yourself a favor and take your clubs to golfgalaxy or your local shop and get them properly fit to you. The way the club sits at address is a static measurement and can be totally different than when you make contact. Generally most people have the toe off the ground at address but at impact because of momentum and shaft droop the club is fit properly to them. Again please go to your local shop that offers fitting.

I reccomend golf galaxy for the job but before you get them worked on I would ask a guy at golf galaxy about bending. To be honest, I would talk to a PGA professional or the club fitter at whichever place you choose. Then I would take their reccomendation on the adjustments.

  12. thank you for your recommendation!

    Hi Dominic,

I was fitted by a Titleist fitter in Mass. and the Project X5.0 came out on top. At the young age of 59, not swinging aggressively anymore, looking for control and consistency. Can not say enough about the 712 AP2's....
