I purchased a Vokey wedge spin milled in the summer and there is already rust starting to form on the club face , is this normal?

If you have an oil can vokey, yes, once the finish wears, it will leave a raw wedge which will rust. That is one of the reasons players like that wedge. If you have a black nickel or tour chrome wedge, both wedges are chrome plated and if you hit enough shots on the same spot on your wedge, you will wear off the chrome leaving a dark spot on the wedge. You will notice that on tour players wedges where they have hit so many shots in the same place that they have a worn spot on the wedge.

Even my chrome plated wedges rust after a while. Key is keep clean and dry. A little rust doesn't hurt anything. If you use a club glove this will advance the rust. Remember the club is made from Low Carbon forged steel, for feel and performance. sp-

A lot depends on where you live, but if you get caught in the rain (an hour or more) it's almost inevitable the wedges will rust a little bit. Go hit bunker shots for 10 minutes and it'll all be gone!
