  1. Does anyone have any experience with the Squareback 2? I have a studio select Newport 2 with the GSS Insert and have always liked it. But I like the look of the squareback 2 and think it might be easier for me to line up than my Newport 2 - having a little trouble on those 4-8 footers.

Does it feel any different? Easier to line up? Good on long distance as well as short ones? Etc.

    Thanks!

  2. I have both both squarebacks and prefer the double bend shaft to the plumbers neck....IMHO

I have one and love it! Good on long and short putts and with a proper shaft lean at impact, it feels like butter!

I believe the squareback is face balanced and the newport 2 is toe down. The former is designed for a straignt back, straight thru putter swing with the face always square. The Newport is designed for the open, square closed swing that rotates the face around the heel of the club a bit, kindof like a door. Figure out which you have and use the correct putter. The next advice I'll give you is advice that is good with any club, any sport, any enterprise: go back to basics and keep it simple. When you work on something for a long time like you suggest, you work yourself away from the simple fundamentals that you started with. Finally, realize the pros only make about half the putts from 8 ft. You won't make them all. practice, practice, practice. Off to play a tournament in the rain. --Jerry
