I am currently about a 12 hcp and play with 804's. I am ready for a new set of irons and like the looks of the new 712's. I hit the 710's pretty well, only hit the 6 iron. The main reason I want to go with the AP2's over the AP1 is I like the feel of forged. Am I biting off more than I can chew with the AP2's with my handicap, should I consider a blended set? Thanks.

Being that the new 712 AP2s are 7% more forgiving then the 710 model, I think you won't have too much difficulty playing these irons.  Blended sets aren't bad ideas and are certainly feasible, since we do sell our irons individually.  We don't designate any iron model a certain handicap, because the characteristics of the irons can play to many different players of the same skill level.  I would recommend you see a certified Titleist fitter, in hopes of determining which iron model you will have the most consistency  with.

I think you'd be fine to just get the AP2's. I've played the 962's, 990's, 762's, 755's then went to the AP2's and the AP2's are the most forgiving of all of those clubs and forged. Great combination there and the new 712 model will be even more forgiving than what I'm currently playing which is the first generation AP2's. My new AP2's are already on order and can't wait to get them later this month!

Cool thanks for the responses. I think I am going to go with a full set 4-GW of the AP2's when they come out. I can't wait! My 804's are almost 8 years old, and have been great clubs since the day they got sent from the factory, had 1/2 inch added. Also just wanted to say thanks to Titleist for making everything in LH, was going to look and hit the JPX 800 Pro's just to appease a buddy, and they don't even make them in left handed.
