Whats the distance difference. Is a 50 a good choice as pw, my 9 irom is 43 degrees.

    Tanner,

Generally, our PW lofts are 45* or 47* and you should try to keep your lofts close to 4-6* when dealing with your wedges.  I would say 47* would be a good loft for your PW.  You could custom order a 48* bent to 47* or go with one of the new SM4 46* wedges custom ordered bent to 47*.  Check you carry distances with your 9 iron and allow for 10-15 yards less (at most) to find a good loft for your PW.

    Hope this helps!

Here's something to think about on whether to choose a 48-06 vs a 50-08.... The 50-08 is two swingweight points heavier and 1/4" shorter. You can make either one a 49-07 (bend the 48 1* weak or the 50 1* strong).

That would give a 15 yd gap with the 9 iron either way. Then have a 54-11 bent to 55 and a 60 bone stock (or even bent to 61). 3 wedge setup with even spacing. There are some that play with 5 wedges - PW (47), GW (52), SW (56), LW (60), XW (64). Most of the golf instruction books recommend 4 (the 64 is not one that most people can use).

My 9 iron is 45* (Eye 2). I have 3 Spin Milled cc wedges: 50-08 (bent to 51), 54-11 (bent to 55) and 62-07. I'm also pretty adept at working my irons and, more or less, have distance control down to an art. Well..... you COULD treat a Eye 2 9 iron as a PW because of its loft. This is what works for my golf game but may not work for others.
