Satin 710 AP1's? KBS C-tapers?

    Hi,

    Just stumbled on these clubs on Ebay: RARE-Titleist-Satin-Finish-710-AP1-4-GW-KBS-C-Taper-S-GP-Tour-V-cord-grips

    What is that finish all about? Special edition or after market? I like it...love my AP1's to look like that!

    Has anyone tried the KBS C-taper? Is there a noticeable difference in distance and control as promised in the KBS marketing?

    The finish and reshafting work are both aftermarket. The satin finish can be achieved in a number of ways. The C-Taper shafts are available in the new 712 lineup. The shaft works well for some players. Find a fitter in your area this fall to try them out.

    Hi,

    I'd like to learn more about the finish. Can anyone tell me who would do that? Seems like a more durable finish against long term wear...

    I have Project X 6.5 shafts in my AP1's now. KBS claims the C-taper has a lower launch and less spin - but is it really lower/less than a Project X? I like the PX shafts, but I would like a bit lower launch, especially in short irons. I wonder if the C-taper is the answer...
