I am 16 and I am getting a new set of irons for my next high school season. I shoot mid to high 70's and have pretty consistant ball striking. I was wondering, should I do Pitching Wedge through 7 iron in AP2s and then 6 iron through 4 iron in AP1s to make those long irons a little bit more forgiving. What do you think about this idea? If it's kind of dumb I'll probably just do all AP2s.

    AJ,

This ins't dumb at all.  This is actually a common way that players, who need more forgiveness in their longer irons, order their sets.  My recommendation would be to find an authorized Titleist dealer in your area and request to hit the AP2 3, 4, or 5 irons and see how well you hit them.  If you feel contact after a handful of shots was inconsistent, then AP1 in the longer irons may be a better fit.

I agree with AJ, I have a mixed set AP1 4 iron then 5-pw AP2's. I had the AP1 5 iron in the bag for a while but was hitting it much longer and did not want to have it bent weaker, To Me the AP2 5I really is just as forgiving as the AP1 5I.
