Not sure if it’s been asked before in the forum but in my hours of lockdown boredom I’m looking at new ways to mark my prov1. How does everyone mark their ball?

I've been marking mine - in addition to personalization - in this manner for over ten years. The two color dots are not found on too many others' balls, so it help me swiftly identify mine. This particular personalized ball is from 5 years ago and shows the wear of five full rounds.

I was noticing you have a custom number. I was once chastised for not adding a ball mark on a #50. I'm certain I was the only one not playing 1-2-3-4. ....Ok.
However I'm still defining my "final" mark on yellow urethane balls now that I can't get a custom number other than 1-2-3-4. Haven't decided on the best visible colors yet.

I've always wondered if someone encountered "one of those golfers" who would be adamant about their opponent marking their ball despite having a custom "mark" as the number.

I would go for Black on the yellow ball - matches the script and number too.

Been doing it this way for several years now. I get lots of "lost" balls back from buddies and members who find them, since they know they are mine

One dot (color varies depending on what sharpie is in the bag) underneath the number on both sides of the ball.
  9. Granddaughter’s initials under the number on both sides.
  10. Initial above the logo and 1,2 or 3 dots to designate each ball for id
  11. 3 blue sharpie dots around both numbers.
  12. One red dot to the right of the number on golf ball.

My age for ball number and my initials for personalization on Pro V1 balls. I have been doing it this way since Titleist made this option available.

I custom order my balls with the number 38 and my initials. If I’m playing in a tournament I will mark with black dots.

Black alignment line on the side of the ball with a red dot usually near the number of the ball.

Call me basic, but I put 2 black dots on either of the number and draw a line on the side for putting.

I stay away from dots as this is the prodominate marking of choice amongst golfers. I have always signed my name on the side of the ball opposite of the pro v1 logo. It creates a unique marking that nobody can replicate to call their own. On a side note, i sometimes get balls returned to me after they have been lost for someone else to discover.

While officiating on the first tee at an open competition at our club I asked all compeditors if they had put an identification mark on ther ball, a young chap came over and told me Im playing a Titleist No3, I explained there were bound to be others playing who were using a Titleist No3 ball, he scratched his head and replied ah I understand now, Ill change it to a Titleist No2.......

I play mostly AVXs, but also play Pro Vs and V1x some days too. I like each model for different reasons, but that's another story. Depending on which ball, I always mark them with three dots in a triangle around the alignment mark. If it's a Pro V1x I use a red sharpie. If a Pro V1 I use black and if an AVX I use red. My AVXs are already custom designed so I really shouldn't need to mark them otherwise, but if a play a provisional, I will mark it as such.
