The reason there are as many lines of balls as there are is because we are not all the same or have the same resources. I haven't heard of a pro yet switching to the AVX. What I can say is it was a close choice for me between the Pro-V1 and the AVX. I tried the AVX due to the optic color and my not perfect vision. I still have some prior edition 1x's and with the AVX, I do note they are much harder. The AVX would have won over the V1 for me with a mid-iron advantage, but they both were better than the Chrome Soft in scoring. ....For me.

I didn’t have the opportunity to test either ball on a LM, however after playing some rounds with em. I noticed the AVX having a longer roll out.

However this is starting to bother me a tiny bit. Because I went to the CBs to be as sure of the same distance everytime. So I might play through this last sleeve and return to pro v1.

I have been a pro-v1 player for years.I just recently tried the new AVX and I must say For me I have better distance and accuracy with the AVX especially with my mid to long irons. nice Job Titleist.

I finally tried the AVX. I really like them. The big adjustment has been the length off the irons compared to the Pro V1x. I'm going to give them more time before I decide to switch or not.

After reading the discussion and feedback on this ball I may have to give it a try, Pro V1x has been my ball for years, so it'll be interesting to see what differences there are to my game.

I have tried both the Prov V1 and the AVX. Both balls are good, but I prefer the Pro V1 and will continue to use them

I have been playing the Prov1 for many years. I put some AVX into play about a month and a half ago. For some of us seniors, and at some clubs and courses we are referred to super seniors, and of course depending on swing speed, it definitely will increase our distance. When I was fitted for my 917D, my swing speed on TrackMan showed me at 93, with a carry of 225. I play a couple of days a week with a PGA teaching pro. Helps the game a little, believe me. I am proud that in less than 60 days I will be 72 years of age and can still poke that little round ball in the middle of the fairway and still hit the greens consistently. As amateurs, our game is always a work in progress. My mid irons have always been an issue. So I play the senior tees which means I do not hit a lot of mid irons, except maybe on a par five on occasions. I play to a good solid 11 handicap. What the AVX has done for me, as my teaching pro says; Chuck! "when you slow your swing down to a blur, you are hit the ball so much farther and straighter and gaining at least ten years off the tee and one club on the irons, with the AVX". At my age is nice to hit a 7 iron 150 yard dead straight to the target. With continued support from him, I will continue testing the AVX and maybe rotate it with the stash of PROV1s I have. But from what I see it is a very good ball and performs well.
You cannot play a ball once or twice and say did not do well. You have to play the ball. I play three to four times a week and am putting it thru every possible scenario on the course. Just remember, Titleist makes three premium golf balls for a reason. Three different types of players. Just like the tour players. Two types of Titleist tour players, Prov1 and Prov1x. The public asked for a softer premium and a premium optic yellow ball. Enjoy your game and the Titleist ball you choose. I so enjoy reading all the posts and have for many years.

Forgot to add, I made four birdies with that AVX yesterday. Pretty good ball.

I've had several sleeves given to me, to be honest, I haven't tried them yet. I need to.

I switched from the 1x to the AVX after trying the test release of the ball. I have more control with mid irons and I love the softer feel putting.

I have been a proV1 player for a long time now. But back in February when Titleist sent out the AVXs to 4 states to try. My club was one of them to get them . My club pro asked me if I’d try them and of course free Titleist golf balls. So I played a round with them . They are a great ball just not meant for me . I noticed straighter ball flight off the tee , not much with irons and just didn’t like the reaction around the green. So I gave two sleeves to my father and one to a buddy. My dad loves them and has been playing them ever since. He has a lot less club head speed then me so they work great with his game . But Titleist never makes a bad product.

I have been playing Pro V1's for a couple of years and tried the AVX earlier this year. I did notice more distance and better accuracy off of the irons but no difference with the driver. What it came down to was the putter. I just didn't like the sounds and the feel so I am sticking with the Pro V1's.

I've played the ProV1X for a while now with switching up to the ProV1 here and there. I put the AVX in play and found that it was softer feeling off the tee and putter for me. Irons and wedges I really couldn't tell the difference, but the Prov1X consistently spun more than the AVX. The AVX did have more roll out compared to the Prov1X & Prov1.

Overall if you told me I had to put the AVX in play moving forward I wouldn't have any issues. A solid ball for those looking for a less expensive option than the ProV line.

I almost bought a sleeve a couple of months ago, but I'm love the 1x - I just didn't think it would compare at all. Sounds like it could from some of these posts.

Noticed your comment to the AVX being a lesser expensive ball. The AVX is a premium ball just like the Prov1 and Prov1x and sells for the same price. The TourSoft is a softer ball and is a lesser expensive ball in the great line of Titleist balls. It replaced the NXT line of golf balls. I have tried it and it is a well performing ball as well.

Had a last sleeve of AVX in my bag today.
Was the last hole, pretty late 21:30. Teed it up, tight par 5, 476 meters. Took a easy swing and hit it semi pure of the driver. But boy did it deliver.

Distance: 283 meters, 310-ish yards!!
On a flatish/ bit uphill slope.
Finally a distance drive I knew I was capable of. Man, this makes me totally reconsidder my earlier post about switching back to Pro V1.

I played a couple sleeves of AVX earlier this season. I liked the ball flight and added distance, but they roll out on the greens, for longer iron shots, short irons, chipping, etc.. I just couldn't get myself to club down and let it roll to the flag. I'm back to the Pro V1. I love the Pro V because it drops and stops on approach shots. Chipping, it will check and slightly release. I can count on how it reacts on the green.
