So I only had time to get fitted for Irons and a Driver at a Titleist fitting day.  The Driver details were:

D3 10.5* with RIP shaft on the A-2 setting.

My question is I purchased a 910H 19* hybrid and i'm wondering if that would be the same A-2 setting or would the setting vary by club (Drive, Fairway, Hybrid)?  I know I need to get it lenghten an inch (my irons and wedges are 1" long) because I cannot hit it.  I catch the top or try to come down too much and chunk it.

    Thanks!

It may be a good place to start but I'm finding it rare that the same settings apply from Driver to hybrids.  I've seen settings all across the board which is the beauty of the system.  It's always based on the particular need of the hybrid shot.

I'll take it in and see if I can get it fitted.

    Justin U,

Thank you for the posting and for placing your trust in Titleist clubs.

I agree with RC and we have experienced the same results that golfers don't usually stay in the same lie angle with drivers and other clubs.

As turf interaction increases with shorter clubs hit with a descending attack angle and as loft increases, the lie angle affects performance more. We have found that most fairways and hybrids tend to match or come close to iron lie angles.

I know we sound like a broken record, but getting fit really is the best way to select new equipment and make sure that it will help you become more consistent and shoot lower scores.

    Thanks again for your support.

    Brett

    It's my pleasure.

If you ever near Iowa City and want an expert fitting, you should see Bryan Haas at BlueTop Ridge at Riverside Casino. He's one of a handful of golf professionals who trains fitters on our behalf by conducting workshops all around the country. He's a superb club fitter.
