  1. The Titleist website says that the AP2 irons have a swingweight of D2 for standard length clubs. Can you please tell me what the swingweight would be with the following shafts?

    1. Nippon NS Pro 970 1/2" longer than stock.

    2. Nippon NS Pro 105T 1/2" longer than stock.

    3. Dynamic Gold HL 1/2" longer than stock.

    4. Aldila VS Proto-T 85 1/2" longer than stock.

    Thanks, guys.

1 thing, it will matter what grip you are using. My understanding is that the SW is simply a ratio of the butt end 14 inches(which includes the grip) to the rest of the club. Its also my understanding that they can make any shaft at any length with any grip and head combination, any SW you want.

  3. I realize that certain things can be done to affect the swingweight. I assume the D2 swingweight posted on the Titleist website for AP2 irons is based on standard length Dymanic Gold shafts with Titleist Tour Velvet grips. I just want to know what the swingweight is with the shafts I listed in my first post, assuming that the Titleist Tour Velvet grip is used. If you put those clubs I listed onto a swingweight scale, what is the swingweight reading on the scale? Do the Titleist guys have those specs? Thanks.

  4. Hi Kevin

Assuming all of these are stiff flex...(tolerance is +/- 1 pt)

    1. Nippon NS Pro 970 1/2" longer than stock. = D4

    2. Nippon NS Pro 105T 1/2" longer than stock = D3

    3. Dynamic Gold HL 1/2" longer than stock = D4

    4. Aldila VS Proto-T 85 1/2" longer than stock = D4

  5. Thanks, Nick.
