why not just hit your 5 iron?

Good place to start will be a fitting with the 21 and 24 hybrids. That will give you 32 options to try before settling on a shaft! :)

I wouldn't replace my 5 iron, but I also thought I wouldn't replace my 3 or my 4... To each his own.

Mike,
I agree with Ryan about the many loft and lie options that 910 offers.
If you are trying to replace your 5i, you are probably a lower ball speed player and/or a low ball hitter. Usually the 24 H is the best 5i replacement . Quiet often we end up adding some loft to the 24 H to have the right yardage gap between your 6i and 24H.
Good Luck

Where you start in the bag with hybrids is determined buy which long iron you hit well and with confidence ON THE COURSE, not on the range.
Which long iron can you hit to a short pin over a hazard? Everyone can hit them to a back pin. Older hybrids tended to hook whereas the modern ones can be worked left-right, and high -low.
The reason long irons are leaving bags at all levels is more related to the new balls more than anything else. Older balls spun more. Everyone had a ping eye2 2 iron in their bag 15 years ago.. Now the only players hitting 2 irons have to have tour level swing speeds to keep the ball in the air. Now you see many tour players with Hybrids (Daley carries a 4 hybrid) or with the super game improvement type longer irons and then player irons in their scoring clubs. Its really what gets the ball in the hole best. No room on the score card for comments, just numbers!
