RC is to modest to post this himself so I'll do it for him.  He has written a great article on driver fittings.  Check it out.

In all my years of fitting, I'm a little ashamed to say I never understood how, when, or why to apply the numbers given us for torque. This is brilliant stuff Mr. Crysler!

    Thanks for sharing it...

Very nice RC.  I'm looking forward to reading more of your stuff.

I had the pleasure of being Tour fitted, and my fitter did about the exact same thing.  We hit the D2 and D3; I liked the D3 and so did the trackman-then we played with shafts.  I couldn't really "feel" a big difference but I narrowed it down to 3 shafts.  I hit roughly 5 shots with each shaft and ended up selecting the Aldila NV 55 S (3.9 Torque)  one of his 'favorite shafts' lol.  I made my selection on the numbers.  A touch more carry, but quite a bit more roll.  I've never been classified by plane, but if I had to guess I would be a 2 planer.

I don't have the club yet, but I can't wait!  I hit it well on the range, and really liked the feel and the numbers I generated.  Hopefully I'll stripe some center cut once this snow melts.

Keep the articles coming! Thanks again

  8. What a great article, very interesting reading so much so i sent it to my local pro and he too thought it was excellent and will try and integrate it into his club fitting. thanks again, Derek.

    Thanks Derek!

I think I'm close to figuring out the why, but the correlations are pretty clear in my sample of clubfittings since 2003.  Let me know if you have any questions.

  10. I think with the amount of data you have collected and your skill level you could certainly publish a very succesful book on club fitting which i'm sure a lot of people would be very interested in. I've watched a few video's off your site and i'm very impressed! Just a shame i'm too far away to take advantage of your services being in Scotland :)

Thanks again for the great advise

    Regards

    Derek

Best article I have ever read on club fitting. I will be fit for my new 910 in April, and really want to get this one right. I have gone through so many drivers. I feel I can go into this fitting with some confidence that I will be fit to the right shaft. Thanks
