  1. If you want to shorten a Scotty Cameron putter is there anything I need to know about weighting the shaft or can the shaft be cut down and a new grip applied?

As far as I know (a few years of serious Cameron collecting), whenever I purchase a Cameron that I know is going to be a gamer, I look at the head weight. ScottyCameron.com has a putter archive where you can view just about every putter and weight he has ever manufactured. Here is a link to the RECOMMENDED swing weights http://www.ralphmaltby.com/home/267/ . To be honest, it's completely up to your feel. I play 33" 330-340g. I have on numerous occassions cut my sticks up to 2" and threw on a grip! Hope this helps.

    Gary,

If you shorten your putter the swing weight will change. The more you cut off the lighter the putter will feel. My advice would be to weigh the putter before you make any changes. Then add some lead tape to the back and bottom of the head to get the weight back to a desirable feel.

    Good luck,

    Kevin
