My current index is 8.8.  Clubhead speed with driver is 100ish ... I hit a 909D2 8.5 with the stock VooDoo shaft (S-flex) and my average drive is in the 260 range. I am pleased with the ball flight with my driver and fairway woods.   I have the original AP2 with the stock Project X 5.5 shaft.  7 iron carry is 155.  I would prefer a lower ball flight with my irons.

I have been in launch monitors and used some of the modern fitting tools.  I am kind of skeptical of all this.

My swing can feel different from day to day and I try to adjust what I am doing based on the ball flight.  In a launch monitor you can't see the ball and are forced to rely on the numbers thrown at you.  I always figured that if the club feels good, then it fits you. Am I misguided here?   I am concerned maybe I am leaving some yards out there but the fact that my swing can feel different sometimes, how can I believe a single launch monitor session from that day?

I plan to buy new irons this year and was just going to get the new AP2 with the stock S300 and have at it. Am I making a mistake here?  1100.00 is lot to lay out without being sure a club fits you but I don't know if I can trust the numbers from the monitor.

What are your thoughts / advice.

    Thanks.
