  1. I've narrowed down my new club choices to pretty much Titleist for driver, and probably Titleist for any other woods or hybrids.

Irons, I like the AP1 most of the 5 sets and I have narrowed down to, so I'm thinking to just go all Titleist! Conveniently, I also just switched to a Titleist ball. I do have an old 975D driver in my bag, but most everything else has always been TM.

Here's my problem - my local golf shop, Golf Mart near San Francisco, has fitting centers for other manufacturers, but they want me to go through a fitting in one of those, but of course I can buy what I want. (They do not refund fees if I purchase.) Does this make any sense? I kinda only seems to make sense if I really am undecided on brand?

Thinking more about this, it would make sense to get fit by a Titleist fitter, preferrably with a massive selection of Titleist combinations? I just want to get this done asap and would rather not wait!

Mariners Point Golf has a place called Cool Clubs and they are an Advanced Titleist Fitter.   When I was fitted at an Advanced Titleist fitter, I had another choice but elected to get AP1 with no prejudice from the fitter which to select.  Getting the clubs that fit you and your ego is priceless.  Enjoy.

If you are in South San Francisco, we would recommend that you go to Kevin Lozares for a fitting over at Palo Alto and his number is: 650-856-0881.  The FittingWorks Van will also be at Palo Alto on May 9th and June 8th if you can wait and would like to be fit by the Van.

Will the tour van ever be in Central New York or near?

In general, no as they are based in Texas and California.  Our California Van made it as far as Florida last winter for the PGA show and travelled around Florida for February and March.  At this time, your best bet is to go to Sleepy Hollow CC in Scarborough, NY.   Kevin Sprecher is the fitter and his number is:  914.941.3062

  6. I was fitted at Sleepy Hollow for my D3 driver. I had an hour appt but they spent 2 hours with me and let me hit every shaft and answered all my questions. It was very professional and I would recommend Sleepy Hollow every day of the week. Hitting titleist balls on the range with the launch monitor was awesome.Good luck. I may be heading back down there for an iron fitting of CB712's

  7. Thank you. how do these 3 compare? 1) going to a fitting now 2) fitting van 3) Titleist days event - there are a couple this weekend st courses within an hour driving distance

You should defenitly get fitted for Titleist, so go to your local PGA proffesional and get fitted for some clubs.

I agree with Cathi - if you want Titleist, you have to get fit with Titleist clubs and with a Titleist fitter. Makes no sense to do a Ping fitting and buy another brand - one thing is that Ping irons are spaced .75* vs Titleist .5* and their fairway woods have a bit flatter lie angle.
