I purchased the AP1 irons reciently in graphite Regular.  I hit the ball relatively low and felt that I would get more height in my iron play.  I might see some height increase but nothing substantial.  I tend to hit mor of a left to right ball path with the AP1 than I would like.  I played TM r7 in steel before without the draw to draw+.  Does this have anything to do with the irons or is it the operator? Would the AP2 be a better fit because of the offset? I play to a 3-4 handicap.  Any suggestions would be helpful.  Thanks you.

I play the AP2 712 with KBS Tour shafts and have gained about 20 yards more in lenght and a lot more control. I've always been a long iron player and now i really dont need a driver anymore. My handicap is 9.9.

Thank you.  Do you feel the AP1 712 with the offset would exagerate the draw more than the AP2 127 series?

    Bill,

Were you properly fit by an authorized Titleist rep?

Without paying attention to your handicap, the R7 is a game improvement with some offset. The lofts on the R7 may be a little stronger than the AP1. So the AP1 would be the closest comparison. If the AP1 and AP2 have less offset than the R7, you may be the source of the fade more than the club. I expect the AP1 would require better ball-striking than the R7 and other GI irons, but still be more forgiving than the AP2. Also, I've never heard that the AP2 creates a higher ball flight. Before tossing another grand at clubs, I'd go back to the fitter and see if the shaft is the best for you. Looking at the handicap, it doesn't look like you would need a senior/A-flex shaft, but that does help geezers (like myself...) help square the head.
