  1. I am reshafting a Titleist 3 & 5 wood, model 906F with Fujikura 7Z08 X flex shafts. We tested this model shaft on a Titleist 910F 3 wood with interchangeable connectors. I am trying to match the playability and ball flight charcteristics. My question is, how far do I insert the shaft into the head of the 906F in order to achieve this match?

Are both your shafts raw uncut un-used?

If you want the exact same performance of the test club, the correct way for you to achieve this is to cut off old shafts at the end of the hosel and Blind bore drill with a .335 bit after counter sinking the area for centering the bit, through the old shaft to the same depth that the test shafts were installed in the 910F's hosel fitting. Depth on the 910 hosel fittings is a little over 1", I would go 1.25"'s or 1 1/4"'s. This way there is no need to finish the bottom of the club because of a complete bore through shaft exchange and you will accomplish same results as the test club. Accept for any differences in head design which may affect performance, should be pretty close though? the 5 wood on a raw uncut shaft should be tipped .50" or 1/2", 0 no tipping on the 3W shaft. If they are used shafts do not tip 5W shaft, as it has probably already been tipped!
