Hey guys, I currently play the 910 D2 driver with the Ahina 72 shaft. Love the driver. My previous driver was non Titleist and I am wondering if I can pull that shaft, a Matrix Tp7, and get a 910 tip installed on it? I am thinking it may lower my ball flight a little and take some spin off? Any thoughts, and is this possible? First post, love the site. Thanks, Donavon

    Donavon,

We won't recommend pulling any Surefit sleeve off an existing shaft, since we have found it damages the sleeve and can lead to further defects not covered under any warranty.  We do offer any custom shaft in our shaft martix for individual sale.  It will come equipped with a Surefit sleeve and an extra bezel weight (found in the sole of the driver).  The bezel weight can be used to change the swing weight, and comes in 2g, 5g, 7g, 9g, and 12g.

Hi Cameron, Thanks for the response. I was more thinking of sending in the pulled shaft to Titleist to have the surefit sleeve installed. Is that possible? Any idea of cost? Any knowledge if changing to the Tp 7 would have the desired changes mentioned above?

    Donavon,

We unfortunately won't be able to take in any shafts and just add the Surefit tip to them.  There are tons of shafts in our current matrix that will offer playing charecteristics you are looking for.

Trust me, from personal experience, it pays to get the shaft directly from Titleist instead of trying to switch them around.  It will give the piece of mind to know that if something is wrong with it you can work with Titleist customer service to get it right.

Hi If Titleist offer the Matrix TP7 as an "off menu" shaft option, and you have the cash, I would suggest getting the shaft from Titleist with the adaptor already fitted. However, I have an extremely good clubfitter that has put the Fubuki K into a Titleist adaptor for me with no damage whatsoever. and it plays perfectly.
