Is there that big of a difference getting fit inside on a monitor vs outside? Also the two places I'm looking at getting fit are the Doral Golf course(which has a fitting center) and Alf's golf shop with is listed on your chart but not as advanced as far as what it offers during the fitting? Help!

hey i had the same question a few weeks ago. so if u can go back and find them you can see some of the responses. but from what i was told its always gonna be better to go to a regional fitting center over an advanced center. the regional center will have more shaft options so they will be able to get you dialed in a little more on the perfect shaft you need.  im gonna be goin to Sea Island GA to the regional center and get my clubs fit. im gonna do a full bag fit. good luck to you

I prefer outside with a monitor. There's no substitute for hitting irons off grass and being able to see the actual ball flight. Mats can easily hide bad swings.

We would always recommend getting fit outside so that you can watch ball flight.  You are the person most familiar with the flight of your irons and will be able to see and feel the difference when you are outside.  All launch monitors are not created equally and there can be a large difference in numbers from launch monitor to launch monitor.  If you are being fit inside, it is important to understand that these numbers are just numbers - they will give you a comparison from shaft to shaft and head to head, but are not a substitute for watching the flight and feeling turf interaction.

At an Advanced center such as Doral, fittings are conducted outside to watch ball flight, they have a dedicated fitter like Andy Victoriano who is experienced, works with a launch monitor, is  knowledgeable about ball flight and equipment and also has a wider matrix of shafts and heads to work with.  Andy's number is:  305.591.6409.
