How can i be sure when its best for me to switch from regular to stiff shafts in my clubs?

I'd suggest going to a fitter and getting on Trackman as flex relates a lot to swing speed. If you don't have a high enough swing speed, you won't be able to properly load the shaft and the result will be unpredictable ball flight.

Get yourself to a fitter with a launch monitor, preferably one that is outside so you can see the ball flight. You'll know in a few minutes whether a switch is right.
thanks. the only place i have is indoor withh a monitor. as an idea i hit my 7 iron like 155 if that helps
It all depends on how the ball got to 155. If you hit a really high ball, a stiffer shaft could bring it down and get you more distance. Even if you're indoors, your monitor should give you a good idea. For example, I pulled up my last iron fitting numbers.
With a DG S300 shaft, I carried a 6 iron (what Titleist uses for fitting) 169 yards. The height was 106 ft. Club speed 94 mph.
With an X100 shaft, I carried a 6 iron only 151 yards. The height was 98 ft. Club speed 94 mph.
Range balls make the numbers a bit different because I carry my ProV1x 180+ yards with a DG S300 6 iron now. Regardless, the numbers quickly told me that even though I have a high driver swing speed (116mph using extra stiff shaft), I prefer to ease off with the irons, so the S300 made more sense for me.
The numbers don't lie.
i carry it about 155. my ball height may be slif\ghtly higher than i want. im looking for more of a boring trajectory that gardually gets higher rather than a big arched ball flight
