So, last winter I purchased a the new 910 D3, I was fit at a Golfsmith and based on my swing spec's then they told me I was in the window for an extra stiff shaft. This may have been a mental thing, but I felt that if I went into the x category I would have to be swinging hard all the time in order to get the shaft to work for me. So, they told me if I really felt that way it was a toss up and my choice between the Project X or the Diamana Ahina (the black one) in an extra stiff.

After playing for the summer with the Project X, I've made some changes in my swing that have made my swing faster and more efficient. So, I'm not sure I'm getting the same performance with the Project X that I was originally. How should I go about getting the Diamana Ahina X into my driver? What types of cost am I looking at for this modification?

I'm 6'4" and I have a fairly steep swing so I generate a lot of back spin. So if I can keep the spin down that would be where I need to be.

    Thanks in advance

  2. You're looking at a $360 upgrade in shafts. The real 'ahina is simply awesome but if you are trying to keep ball spin down have you considered looking into UST Proforce V2 96? Considerably cheaper at around $100 and one of the lowest ball spin producing shafts on the market.

    Thomas,

Any of our custom shaft offerings can be purchased as a "shaft only" option.  Keep in mind it comes equipped with a Surefit hosel and an extra bezel weight.  The bezel weight will help to increase or decrease your swing weight, but won't have any direct influence on ball flight.

  4. What project x are you playing? If it's not the 7A3 or 8A4 you could move to one of those and keep the same feel but they'd handle your swing. If you go Ahina I'd go the made for versions and have them tipped. Substantially cheaper than the real Ahina and very close performance wise. V2 76 and 86 are also options as are the rips but PX and Ahina will feel better with PX feeling the best of these options IMO.
