Why is the Project X shaft no longer listed on the website as a shaft being offered for the 910 D2/D3? It seems to have been replaced by a Mitsubishi Bassura Shaft option.

Hi Julian, the shaft is still offered. You need to look at the custom shaft catalog where you will find it listed as a standard shaft with no upcharge. The fitting centre and many of the fitters will have this popular shaft available to try.
I think the basic shaft list is what Titleist now intend to be available as off the rack models. The fall 2011 initiative as I understand it was to widen the appeal of the product and by having visibility like this of the Bassara shaft .
Titleist showing that they cater for thethe more mature / moderate swing speed golfers and a lot of Lady golfers who would fit into the Bassara shsft range.
This I suggest gives Titleist a broader applealing on floor presence in the major stores which is necessary to help promote the product.
However given the quality of titleist custom fit I'm pretty sure the majority of sales tend to be as a result of this as clearly you end up with a superb product properly optimised for you.

The Project X is still available in all the drivers and is a standard offering.
