  1. I have changes from TTDG S300 shafts about 2 years ago to KBS Tour S. in the proces I changes from MB to CB. I recently changed the KBS to KBS C typre as I wanted a lower ball flight starting with my wedges. I was struggeling hitting a nice low penetrating shot with my 52 and 56 and even pw. I play in a very windy area so I want a lower flight. the past weekend, I played with a friends clubs same heads as mine but with TTDG S300 shafts. I play of a 2/3 handicap index. I could not believe how much better the ballflight was and I shot a 69 3 under par on a very good track. the main differance being that I had such good control and was hitting the clubs on the number. I have had a number of good rounds the past few weeks so my swing is working well. I found that the flight in the shorter irons where lower and had good spin on the wedges. the long irons was almost the same flight as my set and I felt that there could even bee a few yrs longer. I know that shaft fiting is complex and individual swings will perform better with one shaft vs the next. I also know that Titleist and Miz and TM still use TTDG as their origional fitment shafts. I need some opinion from the Titleist Technical people on their views.

  2. When compared to Dynamic Gold shafts, in my opinion, KBS shafts will in fact produce a higher launch. If you're looking for, and prefer a lower trajectory, then I'd suggest Dynamic Gold shafts. I've been using them for years now and absolutely love the performance/feedback/feel, etc., of Dynamic Gold shafts (I currently have X-100's in my irons, a couple wedges and S-400 in some other wedges).

  3. +1

  4. From what I have heard KBS tour launch like Project X and spin like DG but the KBS C taper is lower launch than DG and lower spin than PX

  5. WarrenB thanks for what you have heard, I am asking people who have played the shafts about their experiance, I have played all 4 shafts, PX, KBS Tour, KBS C typre and TTDG. the issue here is not spin, I dont have a problem spinning the ball with short irons, it is about ball flight. The PX Flighted shaft is great for higher handicap players who need help getting the ball up with longer irons and the feel is very boardy, the normal PX is in my book boordy and the launch is high. The KBS tour is a very nice shaft and feel softer than the flex but the flight is lower than PX but higher than TTDG. THE C Typre is a great shaft with a nice ball flight for my game, my issue is that they are more expensive than the TTDG but my resent experiance playing with both shafts in the exact same set of irons is that the TTDG is as good as the C typre with same performance. I Get the idea that KBS is the new thing but does not offer much differance from the other shafts on the market. I am sure Noppon and some other shafts that I have never tested also offer great options. TTDG it is still the most used shaft on tour. even the Tour issue is not a new shaft, it is only a process followed to select shafts from the production line who are closed in specs, less diviation is frequency, than the normal DTTDG. Anyone with experiance who has played with these shafts in the past few months as the C Typre was only release about 6 months ago.
  6. From what I have heard the KBS are more like Project X...higher launch angles....also softer feel in process...

  7. Remember spin does affect ball flight as it creates more drag... an example of this would be a ballooning ball flight which gets stuck in the wind. Launch angle is just the angle the ball starts at, spin will affect it in the air.
