I played the DCI Black's for years also until I upgraded to the 735.cm line.   I really like the progressive nature of the 735's.  Of the new clubs right now, I would suggest that you look at the 710 cb's. 

At 46" will the shaft not play a lot softer to flex than a stock 45" which is trimed?Hence longer shaft is harder to control on two fronts : more flex and longer shaft is harder to square the clubface?
