As an American I believe it is a question of the grooves and are they still performing. If they are worn out you are losing spin and thus control. I believe the SM10's are the best yet and love the RAW without question. IMHO

Dale brings up a good point. Pick up your trash. The course maintenance will appreciate it. I'm a bit anal about it, but if I'm waiting on the tee box, I often will gather the broken tees and put them by the tee markers just to tidy up a bit.…

It has to do with flighting of wedges and preventing getting high fliers.

You usually never get an exact number but in the past these have been limited to lower numbers such as 2,000 or more depending on the model and year.
