Wiesberger's Playoff Victory at the Scottish Open Highlights 4-Win Week For Titleist Players

Bernd Wiesberger raises the trophy after capturing the 2019 Scottish Open.

The winning ways continued around the globe for Titleist this week, as players trusting their games to Titleist golf balls and golf clubs triumphed at four tournaments across the worldwide professional golf tours.

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS

Bernd Wiesberger captured his second European Tour title of the season, edging in an all-Titleist Pro V1 playoff in the final tournament before the last major of the season, this week's Open Championship. Wiesberger heads into Royal Portrush in top form, having also finished runner-up just the week before at the Irish Open.

• Also capturing her second victory of the season, Sei Young Kim closed with a 6-under 65 to win the LPGA's Marathon Classic by two strokes.

• On the Korn Ferry Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Nelson Ledesma won the TPC Colorado Championship in dramatic fashion, birdieing the 72nd hole to win by one shot over fellow Pro V1 player, Brett Coletta.

• And in Canada, Paul Barjon also doubled up, winning his second event of the season on the PGA TOUR Mackenzie - Canada, as he enjoyed a three-shot victory at the Osprey Valley Open and jumped into the No. 1 spot on the Order of Merit.

All told, players trusting their games to a Titleist golf ball have now collected 112 wins across the worldwide professional tours. That's more than five times the nearest competing brand with just 20 and more than all competing brands combined.

It was an all-Pro V1 playoff at the Scottish Open, where Titleist Brand Ambassador Bernd Wiesberger topped Benjamin Hebert with a par on the third extra hole. The victory was the second of the season for Wiesberger who captured the Made in Denmark in May.

The Austrian was also runner-up at last week’s Irish Open and has vaulted to the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings.

Hebert set the clubhouse target at 22-under 262 following a final round 9-under-par 62. Wiesberger joined him with a closing 69. In Round 2 action, Wiesberger fired a 10-under-par 61 to take the early tournament lead.

Hebert earned a spot in this week’s Open Championship for his performance. He will be joined by two other qualifiers from this event, including Wiesberger’s fellow Titleist ambassador Andrew Johnston (Pro V1, TS3 driver, TS2 fairway metal, 718 AP2/2-3 irons, 718 MB/4-9 irons, Vokey Design SM7 pitching, gap and lob wedges, Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter). “Beef” was one of five players to share fourth place, three shots out of the playoff. He carded the lowest round of his European Tour career on Sunday, firing a 9-under-par 62 to race 34 spots up the leaderboard.

The win is the 13th for Titleist golf ball players on the 2019 European Tour, more than all other golf balls combined.

Wiesberger's win is also the first for the new Titleist U-500 utility iron. Bernd weighs in on the new U-500 in the video below:

The recent tour introduction of the new U-500 and U-510 utility irons contributed to Titleist topping the player count at this week’s Scottish Open with 45 utilities in play. Titleist was also the field favorite in fairway metals (54), irons (45) and wedges (222).
