Titleist Weekly Tour Highlights

PGA TOUR:

Henrik Stenson (Pro V1) carded a tap-in eagle on the 15th hole of the final round to secure the lead and an eventual one-shot win at the Hero World Challenge.

Stenson closed with a 6-under par 66 en route to an 18-under 270 victory total.

Eleven players in the field of 18 relied on a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success.

AUSTRALASIA:

Matt Jones (TS2/10.5° driver, TS2/16.5° fairway, 712 MB/4-PW irons, Vokey Design SM7 gap/52°, sand/56° and lob/60° wedges, Scotty Cameron GSS putter) captured his second career Australian Open by one shot over runner-up Louis Oosthuizen (Pro V1).

Trusting Titleist equipment from tee through green, Jones led the tournament the last three rounds en route to a 15-under 269 victory total.

Jones, who is a member at the host Australian Golf Club, won his first national title there in 2015.

He needed to make a testing 4-foot putt for par on the final hole for the win after Oosthuizen, playing for the first time in Sydney, fired a final round 66, which included an eagle on the final hole.

Jones’ fellow Australian and Titleist Brand Ambassador Aaron Pike (Pro V1x, TS3 driver, TS2 fairway metal, U510 2-iron, 718 AP2 irons, Vokey Design pitching, gap, sand and lob wedges) tied for 3rd.

Jones and Pike qualified for next year's British Open by finishing among the top three who were not already qualified. It marks the third time in five years that Jones has qualified for The Open.

Former Open Champion Oosthuizen was already exempt for next year's tournament in July at Royal St. George's.

Titleist was the top choice in golf balls with 119, or an overwhelming 83 percent of the field. That was nearly 12 times the nearest competitor with 10.

Titleist was also the field favorite in drivers (61/42%), hybrids (20/57%), utility irons (52/51%), irons (74/51%) and wedges (256/63%). There were more than twice as many Titleist drivers in play than the nearest competitor (61 to 30). The new Titleist T100 was the most played iron model with 27.  Nearly two-thirds of the wedges in play were of the Vokey Design variety, more than five times the nearest competitor (256 to 48).
