The Players' Choice: The 2018 RSM Classic

This week, Titleist enjoyed a unique presence at the PGA TOUR's RSM Classic. We arrived in St. Simons Island, Georgia to introduce the new 2019 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls to the amateur golfers who would be playing in the Monday and Wednesday Pro-Am Events. PGA TOUR pros got their first look at the 2019 models just a few weeks ago in Las Vegas and we wanted to provide a similar experience for amateurs in Sea Island, fitting more than 200 golfers into the 2019 Pro V1 and Pro V1x.

It was a privilege to meet so many fantastic players, including a number of Team Titleist members, who all shared in our excitement for #ProvingIt in 2019 with the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x.

IMMEDIATE IMPACT

It was cold and windy as the RSM Classic got underway on Thursday, but that didn't slow down longtime Titleist golf ball loyalist Charles Howell III, who teed up a new 2019 Pro V1 for the first time and fired an 8-under-par 64 to take the lead after Round 1. Howell hit all 14 fairways and all 18 greens playing the new golf ball.

Once again, Titleist is the golf ball of choice at the RSM Classic, with a PGA TOUR record 83% of players (129 players in the field of 156) relying on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than ten times the nearest competitor with 8% (12 players) and more than all competitors combined.

Titleist is also the top choice in hybrids (24) and irons (44) at this, the final PGA TOUR event on the 2018 calendar. Vokey Design Wedges topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (211) category and Scotty Cameron putters are the choice of more players than any other brand with 52 in play.

Good luck to all of #TeamTitleist this week in St. Simons Island!
