Ko's Second Major of 2019 Leads 5-Win Week For Titleist Players

Jin Young Ko embraces the trophy after winning the 2019 Evian Championship.

This week, Titleist golf ball players again took center-stage across the worldwide professional golf tours, adding five more victories around the globe, including two major crowns and a World Golf Championships title.

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS

Jin-Young Ko (Pro V1) became the first LPGA player to win two majors in the same season since 2015, adding The Evian Championship to the ANA Inspiration title she captured in April.

• The ageless Bernhard Langer (Pro V1) extended the record he holds for most Senior Major titles, capturing the Senior Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St. Annes for his 11th Senior major crown.

• The Current No. 1 player in the world entered the winner's circle for the first time at a World Golf Championship event, trusting a Pro V1x golf ball in his victory at the WGC - FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

• At the PGA TOUR's Barracuda Championship, the winner, playing in just his sixth event as a professional, relied on a Pro V1x golf ball to capture his maiden victory, winning by three points in the modified Stableford scoring format.

• And in China, where the Dongguan Open was reduced to 36 holes due to inclement weather, Titleist golf ball players finished 1-2-3-3, led by Joey Lane (Pro V1x), who fired two consecutive rounds in the 60s en route to his first win on the PGA TOUR China Series.

All told, players trusting their games to a Titleist golf ball have now collected 122 wins across the worldwide professional tours. That's more than five times the nearest competing brand with just 21 and more than all competing brands combined.

Let’s take a closer look at this past week’s Titleist tour highlights…

The current No. 1 player in the world earned his first career World Golf Championships title this weekend, playing a Titleist Pro V1x golf ball in his three-shot victory at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. He closed with a bogey-free, 5-under-par 65 en route to a 16-under 264 victory total and his seventh PGA TOUR title.

The winner, who also captured his second consecutive PGA Championship earlier this season, heads a long list of "free agent" players who have won all over the world using a Titleist golf ball. These players choose to play Pro V1 and Pro V1x without endorsement deals – they simply want the freedom to play the golf ball that gives them the best chance of winning.

Players like these have earned some of the most prestigious victories in recent memory, including the 2018 Masters (Pro V1), and victories from this week's WGC FedEx St. Jude champion, all with a Pro V1x golf ball, at the 2018 U.S. Open and the PGA Championship (Pro V1x) in both 2018 and 2019.

Simpson, who eagled No. 3 and birdied No. 6, added four birdies on the back nine for the best round of the day.

The leaderboard featured seven (7) Titleist golf ball players among the top 10 finishers, including Tommy Fleetwood (Pro V1x) and Matthew Fitzpatrick (Pro V1x) who were part of a three-way tie for 4th; Ian Poulter (Pro V1x, TS3 driver, 917F2 fairway metal, 816H2 hybrid, U-500 4-iron, T100 5-iron, 718 AP2 irons, Vokey Design SM7 gap, sand and lob wedges), who finished solo 8th; and Bubba Watson (Pro V1x Yellow) and Billy Horschel (Pro V1), who tied for 9th.
