It was a grueling, humid, hot day with temps near 100. It was also the day before my wedding. I was back in my hometown and was able to squeeze in a round of golf with an old friend of mine who wanted to challenge me. Let's just say, the heat got to both of as we couldn't seem to hit anything straight or solid for most of the day. When we got around to the back nine we were hoping to dial the mistakes down a bit, and I maanged to do so on the 12th hole. A par 3 measuring 163 yards from the back tees was the setting, and after the most pure 8-iron I've ever hit sailed into the air, I knew it would be close. Sure enough, one bounce, a little ride up the flag stick, and in the hole! Needless to say, I rode the adrenaline rush into the clubhouse and finished much better than I had started. Definately worth the struggles in the heat, even on the day before my wedding.
