Been Waitn Near 30 years for This

Yes! I did it! A HOLE IN ONE in the year that I turned 60 years old. It happened on the 18th hole at Sagamore Spring Golf Course in Lynnfield, MA. It is a 180 yard uphill par three. I got under my 5 wood, it came down on a good line, bounced once and was not seen again until my partner ran up and pulled my NXT Tour #3 out of the hole.

We keep our golf interesting by assigning points, both positive and negative, to each of our shots. Good shots will earn you points and bad ones will cost you. For instance, if you win the hole you win 5 points, if your tee ball lands in the fairway you win 5 points, if you hit a tree, that costs you 5 points per collision. You name it 3 putts, bunkers, sand saves, double hits, putting and still being away...each one is valued at 5 points. Because we are kind of high handicappers Birdies are rare, those are worth 20 points. And did I tell you I GOT A HOLE IN ONE!!!

We have a bet, that until today, neither of us had won. The HOLE IN ONE BET--- 1,000 points for a HOLE IN ONE!!!

It sure was a good feeling, I can't wait for my business partner, Joe, to get his first one.
