We were playing a fivesome on October 25, 2012. I hit a 6 iron on number 3 into a strong wind. Since we were looking into the sun and 183 yards away, none of us saw the ball go in. As a matter of fact, I looked both short and long of the green before I found the ball in the hole hidden under a leaf. One of my group, J C Shumate, had made a hole in one in September to tie me with 6 lifetime aces. Naturally, I turned to him and said immediately, "You're one behind again." We have been playing together for over 40 years and we have needled each other so many times we are two piny cushions. Others in the group were: Reid Shumate, Marshall Shackelford, and Jim Maddox.

As a side note, my 4th hole in one was on the same hole with a 8 iron. What a difference it is being 38 as compared to being 62. Two full clubs!
