Acoustics, feel and balance world class. Stable and responsive. The best putter I have ever used. I would, however, like to change the grip out to a larger superstroke 2.0 or 3.0. Will this throw off the balance and the low torque design. I would add a 25 grm counter weight to a 60 gram grip. I think that matches the weight of the stock matador midsize grip on it (85-87 grams). Can anyone advise or weigh in on the the effectiveness of this? Appreciate any insights and experiences. Mine came at Mearns Castle Golf Academy in Scotland on the 4th hole, a 141-yard par 3. I pulled a 7-iron, made a smooth, confident swing, and caught it perfectly. The ball flew straight at the green, pitched just short, took a kind bounce and began tracking towards the flag. As it rolled closer, it disappeared behind the pin. Thinking it had finished beside the hole, I turned to my playing partners and said, “Oh, what a shot!” They looked back towards the green before turning to me with huge smiles. One of them simply said, “Think you should look back, mate… that’s dropped in!” I threw my club in the air and sprinted down the fairway. Sure enough, there it was—my ball sitting at the bottom of the cup. On hole #10, standing over the ball when I hear someone yell. I look up and see two guys in their twenties near some tennis courts. One had yelled at two more guys about to walk across the fairway while I was hitting. Everyone stopped and they waved at me to tell me to hit. I stood over the ball and got my first ace. Took me a second to process it, I’ve been playing for 25+ years and never had one. Next thing I know all four guys are running up to me celebrating like we just won the World Series. I’m not sure who they were but they made an unforgettable moment even better.
