I currently have a 52/56/60 as my old PW was a 48. From going to the gym and practicing I've slowly started

RE: Wedge Loft Options

[quote user="Lou G"]In the thumbnail, my short iron lofts are 42-47-52-58-64 with a 54-10S and 60-14K bent 2* strong. How well can you use the 60? Would you benefit from another hybrid/fairway? How often do you use full shots at 100 yards? If the 60 is hard to control, you can use a 56 bent to 57 or a 58 bent to 57. Depends if you would benefit from more bounce (56-57) or less bounce (58-57) and drop the 60. If you spend a lot of time on the beach, you might prefer more bounce. If your sand boxes barely resemble sand, then less bounce might work better.

Regardless of what works for me or others, you know your game best.

RE: Wedge Loft Options

Have you considered checking to see if there is a Titleist Thursday fitting day in your area and go see one of their fitters. The fittings are free and they can answer all your questions and let you try different shafts and heads. I play T300 irons and use the wedges that are provided in the set, which are P (43), 48 and 53, SM7 58.12D degree which is a great sand wedge. Was fitted for all these clubs. All mine are gapped at 5*. The wedge by the master, Mr. Bob Vokey. Great out of the sand, around the green and in the fairway. Fittings again were free. A 56* degree wedge is a great standard wedge.

RE: Wedge Loft Options

50 54 58 would be my choice.

RE: Wedge Loft Options

Play 50 54 and 58 vokeys. With the 58 the versatility by opening up the club is second to none. So for me that is the starting point. Most guys go for 4-6* of loft in between wedges. For my set up i have a 48.10F and the 52.12F. Both of these clubs are primary full swing or at least 80% full swing options used to cover a yardage gap. When i jump to the 56 and the 60 these are no longer "yardage gap" clubs. These are heavily "lie influenced clubs" a very high bounce on the 56 and a very low bounce on the 60. Both of these clubs i hardly ever, if ever, take full swings with. It looks like the 52 gives you enough gap between the 46, if it were me (since the 56* is a must) i would probably do 52/56/60. Or you can always have them bent 51/56/61. But grind/bounce in the highest lofts is more important than the loft imo.
