  1. I have always had Tour Chrome finish on Wedges...I was considering Brushed Steel or Black for the first time...I would appreciate hearing from Team Titleist members that have had Brushed Steel or Black...Do they wear well? Thanks

I’ve got the brushed steel finish. Had them for about a year now and I’m really pleased with the condition of them. You’ll probably found they wear more on the sole but the face holds up very well. From what I’ve seen, the black finish will wear faster from the face, or at least it will appear more noticeable. It’ll come down you your preference but I can’t fault the brushed finish really.

If you get the black finish dont be disappointed after your first shot from the beach.. But the glare reduction is brilliant!
  4. Raw is still an option, but will be an upcharge, I have the Raw in 48,52,56,60 love the dull finish, great feel.

SM7 Raw is all I want to play anymore in my bag. I would love to collect some of the others for showcase purposes but for the gamers I like to see the rust!

I have chrome on my 50°. Brushed Steel on my 54° and Jet Black on my 58°. For me, reasons being I know which club to grab just by looking at the color. I hardly use my 50° so I don't mind Chrome. The 54° gets used more and the 58° is used every round so the glare reduction is great! If you choose to go black be ready for it to rust if you don't clean it often. They are designed to rust so it shouldn't be a surprise.

    Brushed steel for me.
  8. Black...definitely. Gets rid of any glare problem.
Vokey Japan did a black pvd coating, very nice.
Ok, it wears, but I accept that.

I use Raw but I am a serial custom order kinda guy. Just love the way they age, no glare whatsoever. You need to keep them clean and dry (or keep a magic sponge handy) as I refuse to let them rust even a bit.

I have 2 SM7s, 50/08 bent to 49° and 56/10 bent to 55°. Black with Black shafts. Although my favorite most versatile club, is my Satin SM6 52/08 bent to 53°..madgolfer hitemstraight

I currently have the brushed in a 54 and 60. Excellent clubs. I am looking to replace them for the next season with a 52, 56 and a 60, but i will be going with the chrome this go around. I have the AP3's chrome, had the AP1's in brushed and call it a look thing, but the chrome, I just like the way they look cleaned over the brushed.
To the previous point made, my son in law has them in black, and after a few rounds with the "beach" shots, i would not be happy.

I’m not a chrome guy because of the glare. I have the steel gray SM6’s which I really like and I really miss the oil can spin mills.

I need new wedges and waiting for the SM8’s to come out and really hoping for the steel gray because they wear well and no glare. I doubt the oil can finish will ever come back for sale on the rack. I might look at the raw wedges if the new wedges don’t come in the finish of the steel gray or something close to that.

I have my chrome, match well with my irons, brush steel would be a great alternative too :)

    Huddersfield,

I wouldn’t have anything but chrome. Other finishes look scruffy too quickly
  16. I prefer the raw finish, so what i did was soak my SM7 black in coca-cola until the black finish wore off leaving the raw metal.

i've had the jet black sm7 since late June 2019. The color does wear off on the bottom but I myself like how the wear. Just like many people have stated the finish helps ALOT when avoiding glare.

I clean my club either before and after or round it is easier to see if there is dirt in the grooves which is a perk. Make sure to use a soft brush to avoid any unnecessary wear on the face.

everyone literally will compliment you at how nice they look.

I think the black looks so nice...the club is a tool and of course it will wear some but that's okay! It doesn't belong in a museum as it's meant to hit balls.

Well said. I like wear on my clubs. It makes me feel like more of a player.

I also probably take this way too far as I don't hesitate to hit balls off cart paths, DG, or desert native areas.

Black all the way from the 46-10F to 58-08M and the Callie 64. They do avoid glare. Besides, they look cool.
