    Let me know below\/ thanks,john

  2. My trip is coming up in two weeks. Heading down to The Villages and hope to get in a couple of rounds. Still deciding on were to play, but have a few ideas. I'm looking forward to some 80 degree weather.

I try to take a golf trip somewhere at least every couple of months to include winter. I just got back from playing in Cabo San Lucas MX a couple of week's ago. Usually find somewhere warm to play, even if it's close to home here in the San Diego area. I also play the courses at Bandon OR every winter. That's not your normal getaway for someone looking to escape winter but for me, its a nice change from playing SoCal golf all winter. The rates are fantastic from late November through February. While it's usually a bit cold and rainy, we have had pretty good luck playing in some decent weather up there. Bandon in December gives you the real feel of Scotland while playing those coastal links courses. We also just had a Team Titleist outing here in San Diego. I think we will try to have one every March so TT out-of-towners can use it to escape their bad weather locations. Look for info next January.

I played Quintero (36 holes), We-Ko-Pa and Grayhawk in Scottsdale during December. I love Quintero and We-Ko-Pa, I had played them before so it was great to see them again. Grayhawk was a first, I thought it was pretty good but over hyped as a course. The facilities were incredible though! I'm headed to Bermuda in two weeks to play 36 at Port Royal. Really excited about that trip and getting to play #16 there!

Headed up to Asheville, NC for three nights a couple of weekends ago. Went for an all paid expenses trip for an art auction and that included golf at the Omni Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa. Was a little damp and chilly but whose to complain. Enjoyed the weekend. Would love to play the course again under better conditions. Cart path only and very hilly. Wore this old man down. The Titleist clubs belonged to President Obama, who played there often.

We stayed in the original hotel that was built in the early 1900's and had an outstanding view. Our room was the second from the right at the very top of the roof. Those rooms have a private elevator built in the fireplace with a elevator operator on duty 24/7. It is an awesome hotel and particularly nice at Christmas when decorated. Golf is not desirable at that time because there can be snow on the ground that time of the year. We will be heading up that way again once we get the call. Summer is the ideal time to play golf there, if you are considering a trip there. Asheville is a beautiful city.
