  1. I have played golf for over 40 years, and had never carded a hole in one. I've played to as low as a 3 handicap, played over 60 rounds a year when I was in the 40's, and figured if I didn't get one then, I never would as my best golf is now behind me. On my birthday, my son took the day off and took me golfing. We had a great day on the course. We got to the 17th hole, a 160 year par 3. I flushed my tee shot and it rolled towards the flag. I've been burned before, rolling it close only to get to the green and see that the ball settled in a foot or 2 behind the hole and was hidden my the flag stick, so I didn't get my hopes up.

Keep in mind I'm now in my 60's and my eyes are not what they once where. As we approached the green, I let me son out before the green as he was short and needed to chip on. I parked the cart and looked at the green for my ball and couldn't see it. I figured I must have been long and grabbed my wedge and walked towards the back of the green and saw nothing. I called to my son and asked, humor me and look in the cup. Sure enough it was in the hole. I was so stunned I forgot to have a have him take a pic of me taking the ball out. I pared the 18th and carded a sweet 77. The best part was being out with my son when it happened.
