Well low and behold, the replacement glove I just got last Sunday ripped at a seam today on the first tee.

Got one round out of it.

Not sure what to make of this as I've never had issues but at the price point for the players glove I'll be trying out FJ models.

I have a little movement in the heel of my grip but the players glove will still last 1000 shots roughly, mainly range usage. My last one went with a small hole.

Never ever had any issue or pre-mature issues with Titleist gloves
I use nothing but Titleist Players for 20+ years
Nothing better on this planet, bar none

Player's glove will last me a few months, I hit 500 balls a week, wedge practice for a few hours a week. There are bad gloves/material, I've always thought wear in the palm/heel was on me from grip pressure/re-gripping on the start down.

I just had an issue with a Player's glove as well which is odd b/c I've been playing them forever. Ripped right on the heel of my palm after 2 rounds. Fortunately my head pro gave me a new one as a replacement. I can usually get 20+ rounds out of one before I notice deterioration (depending on weather).

See a pro and check your grip and if your grips are the proper size. I adjusted my grip using the prolonged left thumb with an interlocking grip and placed my right thumb pad/lifeline on top. It secures my hands without the death grip. Also, I use new gloves on the course and, after a few rounds, use them for practice only. Buy more gloves. There’s nothing like hitting the first shot with a fresh glove.

Good point Keith, spend a good bit a time at events convincing folks they are wearing the wrong size. Right size and correct grip increase the life span of a glove.

Double check your size, if you haven't already on the hand sizer most golf shops have for FJ gloves. I always used to think I was a XXL and used to tear up gloves like that. After being properly fit, I wear a L. Changed my grip pressure too, because I had a death grip trying to subconsciously keep the glove from twisting because it was too big.

Probably too much pressure. One of the reasons for a glove on the lead hand is because you want a loose flexible grip so a glove helps. FYI, I never wear my game glove when practicing or warming up. I always bring an old one for that.

I have been using the Players glove for the last couple of years. I typically buy several at a time. While they do not last as long as a synthetic glove, nothing feels better and they are definitely worth it. I would buy them if they only lasted one round.

It likely has to do with something you’re doing with your grip. I can typically wear the same glove for a few months and have no issues with tearing. I’d suggest wearing a rain glove when you’re practicing with those reps. I wear a rain glove between May to October when it’s very hot and humid here in Florida and my hands sweat too much. I’ll wear the same all glove all season because it doesn’t wear out the same as the leather gloves. I hope this helps!

I would say it was a sign that you probably do put too much pressure with your thumb on the grip. Most teachers will tell you that the lower hand (lefty or righty) should be securing the club primarily with the last two fingers of that hand. the thumb rides across the top of the grip if using a long thumb method and even less thumb touching the grip for short thumb method. I do not use a glove but the only calluses on my left hand are on my ring finger and index finger. No callus on my thumb therefore minimal friction. Not to say you should change your grip if you are comfortable with it and it gives you success. You just might have to go with a thicker synthetic glove.
