(Sweat and dirt stains). Does anyone on this site ever clean their Aussie Hat? The way I am thinking of cleaning it is with a soft scrub brush. What chemical would you use?

Then I drain the water and rinse them all off with fresh water and let them dry and they are good as new.

I use sweat saver hat spray on most of my hats and it definitely helps prevent sweat stains. I will say though if it's really hot and I'm sweating a lot sweat will drop down the bill from the headband since it has nowhere else to go.

RE: Cleaning an Aussie Hat
My Titleist Aussie needs cleaning. Last, has anyone put their hat in the Washer?
I wear them all the time and have a number of them. Shout it out!. I like Dale and others put them in the top of the dishwasher, spray Shout all over the hat and maybe a little extra on the more heavily soiled areas the scrub those areas with a brush. Has worked for me with the utmost efficiency. I use Shout on everything, FJ shirts (around the collars), FJ shorts (marks from the steering wheels on golf carts), has saved many items for me.

Jerry, it is hot here in S Carolina also, but the humidity keeps them wet for a while. Heat index today 110*. =)

RE: Cleaning an Aussie Hat

I agree, I wash mine in the shower after a round....works perfect.

RE: Cleaning an Aussie Hat
Thanks Dale. They wash a lot easier and hold their look well after washing. I just use liquid dish soap and hot water in the sink and if real dirty around the band, I will lightly brush with a nylon brush. I lay it flat outside and it dries pretty quickly. I do put my non-cotton hats in the washing machine from time to time if they are real dirty. No dryer, just lay them out to dry.
