Do you find the current T200 to be more similar to the T300 the the previous T200s? Does that question make sense?

Im curious because I went from an AP1/AP2 combo to a full set of T300s in 2019. I kind of missed the more compact iron in the 8-PW

Im heading to get fit next week and would love a combo of T200/T350... I'll let the numbers do the talking , curious to see if i can handle the 200s with my 14 handicap :-(

My Titleist fitter suggested T200 5-6, and T150 7-P with T200 utility build. He didn't like T200 5-7, because the loft gaps from 7-8 would require tweaking lofts.

I was fitted for a combo set that included T200 4 & 5 iron, T150 6-PW. I did not want to redo my SM9 wedges which are 50, 54, 58. I also did not want to replace my 18 degree 3 hybrid. With that in mind, we went 1 degree weak on the T150's, 1 degree weak on the T200 5 iron, and stock loft on the 4 iron. I'm about 4 rounds in with the new clubs and the gapping seems to be working out well.

Best advice would be to do a true gapping session before even trying a direction one way or the other. Find your averages and tendencies and then go from there.

I’ve been in the same position many times…I’ve been blending sets for over a decade starting with a set of miz MP 69/59s, then blended a set of cally Apex/Apex Pros, and more recently a set of T100S/T200s, and now a set of miz MP 221/223s…if you are serious about your golf and just want what is best for you, here’s what worked for me since you can’t test all the clubs in the range at the fitter normally…buy both 6 irons…play them both for a while and see which you prefer and gives you better yardages…then, you may have to bend both to get the exact gap with the rest of the set, and then you will see which is better since the bounce on both will change, changing your turf interaction…or, depending on the sets you are blending, you can just keep both in the bag…not likely with the new T series as the 150 and 200 are only 1.5 degrees difference…other sets are closer to 3 degrees.

Any advice on here is strictly based on what works for us, NOT YOU. Testimonials are great to get an idea what to look for when you go for your fitting. We are not PGA certified fitters and getting the right shaft is the key. When you go for most fittings you will only hit the seven iron. But the information that the training fitter can get a lot of information to put you in the right setup. Trackman is a proven way of putting golfers in the correct equipment so please go see a certified fitter. Each of us is different and deserves special attention. Discuss the info you get on here with your fitter and then listen to his/her recommendation. Best of luck.

Unfortunately I think you have to make assumptions on the combo set. Since you can’t hit all the irons in the set in a fitting. I think there is still value in a fitting from at least being able to discuss with the fitter the gapping and best club to switch over with a combo set. I would think they have data and recommendations since the combo sets have become a thing.

Hi, Just did fitting in CT. Final results T200 5-7 iron, and T150 8-GW. Tensei Red, 1/2 inch over standard, but went back to R flex instead of A flex. At 70 years old, spent a lot of time with the 7 iron in both T 150 and T 200, the new T200 is vastly improved over last version. Now wait for new irons, fitter told me mid September due to high demand of T 150.
Played old version of T200 with Nippon Zelous 7 r2 flex. With the new version of T200 with r flex very little distance gain, but higher spin and launch than old version, as well much better sound and feel. Good Luck and find a good fitter, my fitter kept all loft angles standard.

Totally agree with Tyler & Don’s comments above. I hit the T150s recently and to the eye 4i to PW looked good. Trackman & my fitter saw a gapping issue and replaced the 4i with the T200. Didn’t look I need it but the data didn’t lie. If you can get to a good fitter with launch monitor that’d be my takeaway.

Keep in mind that bending irons to lessen loft also decreases bounce angle of the sole. Too much deporting can cause the iron to dig more. The Titleist fitter I talk to all the time usually recommends weakening lofts and adding bounce.

Valid points made above. The fitting is the best answer.
I think you'll find that the concept of a "combo set" probably originated from quality fitters putting together what works best for the individual.
Best advice we can give you is if you go with a combo set, get the same dexterity.

Best bet is to get fit. Nowadays a combo set is more common. Getting fit will give you the proper gapping set up needed. You might not even need to strengthen or weaken the lofts if the gapping works out accordingly.

I have the 2021 T100s with a T200 5 iron and a U505 4 iron and the gapping worked. Not really concerned about the loft so much as the gapping is correct.
