Any thoughts on this piece missing from the underside of my 917f2 fairway wood?

I'm not ready do drop a wad of cash on a new 3W as I'm contemplating a fitting for a new driver.

That's my 3W on the left with an open gap right into the head "space", and the same model of 3W on the right with the piece NOT missing.

Might Titleist have this part they can send me for me to re-insert?

    Thanks, Pete

It happened to me back when the club was about 6 months old. I bought my 917 3 Wood from my club and they sent it back to Titleist. Titleist sent it back and replaced the entire head. Being that the club has been out of production for some time now, I would contact Titleist to see what can be done.

Frank, yours was within the one year warranty period and this head has long passed the warranty period, but good information. .

Pete, have you contacted the shop/club/store where you purchased the club to have them contact Titleist or you can contact them at 1-800-333-4200 or by emailing them below at Email Customer Service?

You best bet might be is try to find a used head to put on your shaft. I replaced my 917F2 15* with the new TSI2 16.50* and it far superior in accuracy and distance. They have the same shafts. So glad I made the jump. Something to think about.
  4. I'm not sure that piece missing will affect the performance much if at all. The 915 drivers, for example, just had an empty slot there with no rubber filling it. If you love the club enough, it may be worth trying it without.
