Go and pick up some Turtle Wax rubbing compound and some Mcquires cleaner wax. Use the rubbing compound on it forts and then use the cleaner wax to finish it. Just done a driver last night for someone, looks like new. As long as it’s only the clear coat and not the paint it will come out. I do repairs and fittings at my local golf store here. You can find the items at Walmart or your local automotive store in the section where car waxes are. Hope this helps.

I ended up with a few scratches on the top of my driver from an alignment stick in my bag without a cover on the top that when I put my driver back in the bag, apparently got caught inside the head cover. Seems like it happened a few times before I discovered it and ended up with some unsightly scratches more near the neck on top of my driver (this was a 917D3). I purchased some TurtleWax Scratch Repair and Renew (I think it was $11) and it worked quite well. I have used to remove some scratches on my car since purchasing and it does work. It is likely just a wax/abrasive combo, but you could give that a try.

Meguires Scratch X 2.0. Available in just about any auto store. Works great.

I tried using car wax and sometimes a bit of light rubbing compound years ago to clean up some of the marks top & bottom of drivers/fairways and it works better than anything. Doesn't always remove all marks but comes pretty close.

I believe I remember reading some older posts there folks used auto compound and wax to get the best results. That's second-hand, I have not tried it myself. Good luck, its worth a try.
