Considering purchasing a new TS 2 Driver. Looking at getting the shaft length at 43 1/2” or 44”. Has any one out there used a shorter drive length that 45” ?

I had the shaft in my 917D3 cut down to 43 1/2" almost 2 years ago with the results being many more fairways hit off the tee. To compensate for the shorter shaft, I added weight to the head by purchasing the 917 weight kit. I started initially using the 16g weight but found the 14g was the optimal weight compared to the standard 12g at least for me. The distance change was minimal. Shaft is Diamana D+70 Whiteboard (Stiff).

When fit at TPI they put me in a 44 inch, 80g X stiff.. Which shocked the heck-outta me.. But the Trackman numbers didnt lie.. Get fit!!

try go get fitted, my driver shaft is shorter, but you would need to play with various weights to ensure it fits with your swing weight.

When I ordered the Titleist 910 driver at 43" and the 910 fairway metal at 41" through the Pro Shop and Titleist did all the work to make art happen. It got me on the fairway, however, I am currently playing the 915 driver and fairway at standard length and am still hitting the fairway!

I cut my shaft 1” and I gained more control on my drives.

When I was fitted at the Canadian National Fitting Centre, I went in with and started with a 44.5" shaft. After changing combinations and reviewing the Trackman data, we settled on 45.0" (which is 1/2" shorter than stock). If I remember correctly, in my case it was done to slightly raise the trajectory and slightly lower the spin. Dispersion did not suffer. Couldn't be happier!
