I haven't had a chance to test this out on a legit LM yet, but I can tell you that two other buddies who are low handicap also have mentioned the same. From two rounds of actual play what I've found is that when you hit them solid they go about the same distance as the previous version, but if you miss a little (low, toe or heel) that spin is accentuated. When I have the opportunity to jump on a decent LM I'll test both the Pro-V1 (this vs last year) and this years Pro-V1x. For now, I'm going to try the new Pro-V1x for the next two rounds and see. I never liked the Pro-V1x for chipping and putting so we'll see.

The previous was great but sometimes came off the putter face too soft. * Durability - seems improved. After two rounds neither ball shows major signs of wear or the smily face from wedges.

I'll continue to game the 2023 version despite the loss in yardage in driver, mainly because of the putting. Maybe a change in driver setting?

shorter in distance? hmmm...seems off given the fact they incorporated some left dot tech....."feels" spinnier? Have you been on a launch monitor because all the testing ive seen shows a lower spin characteristic compared to the last model

Here is the current weather forecast but as we stay it will change. What courses are you playing? Wish I could join you but am out in rehab until the end of April. Try our muni, it will test your skills. Just do not shoot at the flag. A lot of false fronts. Greens running about 10.5 and bunkers around greens DEEP. Have fun and try Lewis's BBQ.

Did some half shot comparisons of the old vs. new indoors on a monitor. ProV seems slightly spinnier. Not a scientific comparison, but best Chicago offers in February.

I've frankly never liked the "x" from a long game or putting perspective, but will try it out. I'm a pretty high ball hitter and just never liked the way it came off the driver - but most importantly never liked the way they putted.

I was mostly interested in others (low and high handicap) experience with the new Pro-V1.

That's the way Titleist developers suggest you do. Match the ball to your short game and irons and then adjust the driver to maximize your flight. Good luck with it.

Might I suggest trying the ProV1x? It will be higher launch, still spins enough but the ball holds it line better for me. It feels a little softer than the 2021 version.

In testing both balls, I found them to be longer than the previous version.

I prefer the X as the high launch coming into greens creates a steeper decent angle and I can stop the ball better.

Worth splitting a sleeve with your buddy. You can also do a virtual ball consultation and get a tester pack of both.
