Since I live in the New England area, this week just happen to be school vacation. I wanted to do something a little bit different and unique with my family, so I decided I would sign up for a family tour of the Titleist Ball Plant III factory.

Yesterday, April 18th was our day..Scheduled for an 11:00 tour.

We arrived at the BPIII lot, and drove right into a reserved "Team Titleist" parking spot. Once we got to the front door and were checked in, we saw a TV screen with all of our names listed on the board welcoming us to BPIII and the inside tour.

We were immediately greeted with two familiar smiling faces. Both June and Hank walked right over and introduced themselves to my boys and wife and said thank you for joining us for the BPIII tour.

We started off with a quick video on the history of how Titleist started, how the ProV came to be, how the performance, design, and quality checks were really the basis for how important a ball is to one's game and how Titleist works with all levels of golfers to make the best ball for each individual's game.

As we started our to the floor, both June and Hank were guiding us along and explaining step by step how all of the magic comes together. As we were walking the floor during production, the Titleist staff working at each of their stations were clearly focusing on each of their work areas, but either made eye contact and smiled or stopped and would say hello or shake my boys hands. That is a personal touch that made a lasting impression on both of my boys. On the way home, they continued to talk about the jobs they saw the people doing and the first comment they said was that "Every person they saw or met on the tour had a smile and seemed to really enjoy their job". They also remembered that Hank mentioned how long the average team member had worked for Titleist and said, "Boy they must really love their jobs", I think I would like to work at Titleist when I finish school".

I could go on and on about all of the neat things within the factory, but most of all I want to thank all of the Titleist family for opening this tour up to the public, it is just AWESOME and I STRONGLY recommend that you get a tour if you get a chance.

Also, Just want to call out specifically June, Hank, Rick and Dan G for making my family feel so welcome and we really appreciate your hospitality.

You all have provide a great impression for my kids, and I cant thank all of you enough for allowing us into part of your great organization!

    All the best, -Brian

I had the tour this morning April 22@11AM. I echo your comments about Hank and June. Felt right st home.
I was lucky enough to be the only TT member on the tour with Hank. It was a great experience to see how our best balls in golf are made and all the checks and balances are taken.
Then into the gift shop and it was like a kid in a candy store.
I know I will be making a return trip with my wife.

A HUGE thank to Hank and June and Titleist for opening there process to us golfers!!!

    Happy Golfing...

It’s definitely something I’d like to go see for myself too one day.

Great write up, thanks for sharing.

As for a dream job, working for Titleist has to be up there as well.

Great story Brian, nice that you had the whole family and had a great experience. Mentioned to some buddies the other day that we HAVE to get down and take the tour too. Looking forward to it even more now after your experience. Thanks
  5. Totally agree, Brian. The tour is informative and intriguing. The employees are top notch. Folks like June, Hank, others in customer service/relations really do a great job of making the experience the best. All should go, if you can.

    Enjoy!

Yep, I knew when we had business in Boston on Tuesday that I needed to get there a day early and take advantage of the Ball Plant tour. We had June and Patty and had a great time.
  8. I have family in Boston area and will for sure be going!!!!

    Lethbridge,

Would love to see the Ball Plant. That is why Titleist is the best it is not afraid to showcase their products and explain how the produce the fine products they market. Happy employees are also essential to great products. Thank you Titleist
  10. Been dying to do this. How was the gift shop?!?!?!

Nate, the gift shop is small but has some good stuff in it. A few FootJoy Team Titleist golf shirts, tee shirts, regular hats, beanie hats, ball markers, coffee mugs, and 1-99 numbered golf balls.
  12. Sounds good to me. Small just means I can be more efficient with all the money I spend :)
  13. I would love to tour a Titleist production plant sometime. The quality and attention to detail are second to none...I'm sure.

Jeffrey, They don't have a regular plant tour at the club manufacturing site in Carlsbad. Cathi did set up a special tour for the players that came to our San Diego Playday back in March. Thanks again for that Cathi because i know what a detraction these can be for the daily work environment. Maybe when we play next March's repeat event there can be another opportunity to see the clubs being assembled. If not, that's okay, we will have a great weekend anyway.

    Quiz time:

For the folks who have been on the tour, can you recall how many Quality checks a ProV1 goes through?

For the folks who haven't been, but really should try, take a guess at how many Quality checks a ProV1x goes through?

MUST PASS ALL QUALITY TESTING, or the ball will never leave the plant, not even what us older people remember as "X-OUT'S". Titleist wants nothing but the best quality in play regardless of player. They only make the BEST and continue to keep #ProvingIt
