  1. I currently use 714 AP2 Irons with XP95 Steel Reg Flex Shafts. I love the performance of the irons but I am having elbow pain. I want to move to graphite shafts. What shaft best compares to the XP95 Reg? I am 64 years old with a handicap of 5. Thanks

Look at the Aerotech steelfiber shafts as I have a friend that has elbow pain and he uses the Aerotech's and doesn't have pain anymore when he golfs.

Before you buy graphite you may want to try a couple alternatives. Put Sensicore inserts down the shafts (it is really easy to do). They are a vibration dampening insert. Second try a vibration dampening grip. I did Sensicore in my Project X shafts and the put the new True Temper CP2 grips on my clubs and I can play pain free.

I would get fit by a certified Titleist fitter and ask them to fit you for graphite shafts.

I currently game Recoil 95 Stiff F4. I am more of a feel player than a power player and with these it's insane buttery smooth.

jbarlow - sorry to hear about your elbow pain. i've been there. i made the switch to graphite iron shafts about 5 years ago and it's the best thing i've done for my elbow issues (and i'm only 44!). i use project x graphite shafts, but i've heard that the recoil 95's mimic steel shafts. i'm actually interested in trying those in the next set of irons i buy. good luck with your elbow!

I use the Recoils 95 F4 and they are sweet. Installed properly labels down it looks like steel, plays like steel and has better feedback.

I have heard great things about the Aerotech shafts for those that are converting from steel to fiber but have not tried them myself. They are made and manufactured in Bellingham, wa and used by a couple of players on tour.

I would go see a certified Titleist fitter, explain your situation, and puts your game in the hands of a true professional. I used to have elbow pain (tennis elbow) so bad I could barely lift my arm. I play steel XP 105 shafts and wear a Sebona ionic bracelet and have for about ten years. No more pain. Some folks do not believe in them, but they helped me.
