Titleist Gear for the Rain

It’s raining here in New England. Again. And it looks like it’ll be raining all weekend, too. Around here, if you want to get your rounds in, you have to be willing to play in some tough weather conditions. This year I threw a new item in the bag that’s been a life-saver - a Titleist DriHood Towel, part of the Titleist Essentials and Elements collection.

As soon as it starts spitting, I drape this hood over my club heads and everything stays dry - most importantly the grips. The top side of the hood is waterproof, while the underside is microfiber towel. Because it’s protected, you always have a dry towel to work with.

Because I usually carry my bag myself, I’ll only take an umbrella along if I’m playing in a real downpour. I’ve always been a fan of Titleist’s double canopy umbrella, but lately I've been thinking about getting a new Premier Umbrella.

Has anyone tried one out yet? I like the idea of a lighter umbrella that will flip back if the wind blows it inside out. Might be easier when you’re serving as your own caddy.

I’m curious how other TT members deal with golf in the rain. Are there other products from the Titleist Essentials and Elements collection that work for you? Please share any other tips you may have, too.

    Thanks for your feedback!

    Rick

4 Up Stadry is a perfect bag for walking. Rainproof gloves are good too, footjoy has a great pair.
  7. Just recently purchased the Titleist DriHood Towel myself. Have not had a chance to use it yet (thankfully), however, it looks like it works better than the hood that came with my golf bag.

The Titleist DriHood Towel is a must. I prefer it to the oem rainhood.

    Rick,

The 19th hole is always open when it rains.

But the Drihood and umbrella are a must. Always have my rain gear with me.

    Lethbridge,

I have one as well they are great. Work like a dream!
  12. Totally agree, Tyler. The towel over the rain hood. So much easier to get the clubs out of the top without having to deal with the zipper and tightness of the hood.

Mostly I am a "fair-weather golfer," but when I get caught, the towel is a lifesaver.

    Enjoy!

I've heard great things about the StaDry golf bag so will pick one up and very interesting in trying out the DriHood Towel... Quick question though, does it add a little weight to the bag IF carrying?

Speedy, not an issue at all in my experience. It's not as light as a small towel that you'd clip to the side of your bag, but no heavier than the small bath/caddie towel that I typically use.

Love the DriHood™ Towel/Bag Hood and the Double Canopy Umbrella. Teamed up with my FJ raingear and FJ rain boots, I stay good and dry, that is, if I choose to play in the rain.
  19. I have a 4up stadry bag that I love, super light weight and waterproof. I don't care for the good that came with so I have been considering the dryhood towel. Thanks for the insight TT members (& staffers) are always spot on with advice and recommendations. Will definitely be picking one of these up this summer! Maybe my kids will read this and get me one for daddy's day :)
