I’ve never been a big fan of “training aides” but I saw that tour striker was having a pretty good sale on their smart ball. This thing is a small inflatable ball with a lanyard attached and it helps you focus on staying connected. The thing I’m that it taught me was to feel the elbows squeezing together throughout your entire swing! This has been a game changer, I’m striking the ball pure so much more and I’ve actually gained distance too! If you are looking for a training aid to try I highly recommend this one!

A lot of training aids out there to choose from. Seems like you have found one that has helped your game. Nothing like going to a PGA teacher/instructor for assistance. It is all about choices.

I agree 100% It has really helped me with more consistent contact. The other one that I have tried and really works as well is the ProSendr. It's a little pricey compared to the Smart Ball, but well worth it!

I have used one for the past month and it's been quite the experience. It has helped me develop a better feel for keeping my lead arm straight and promoting better contact with the ball.

If you have an issue of not keeping width in your swing then I would recommend this tool. It also helps with short game and saying connected while chipping.

I tried it based on the recommendation of my instructor. I felt so awkward when using it that I eventually gave it away. I have the ProSendr now which has worked wonders for me (I had a cupped left wrist that I couldn't get rid of) which also comes with a "ball" that I rarely use. About the best I think I could do with it, is chipping and pitching.

I know I have old Faldo stories from my time with him, but in the mid-90's Nick practiced with a volleyball slightly deflated just below his elbows. He was making 3/4 swings, we all looked at "another Leadbetter gimmick". The Smart Ball is nothing new, but it's helped me tremendously. To be completely honest, a lot of club guys are jealous of Martin, he's made a fortune on the old school theories.
