Hi everyone, I am Shaun Moulds, Regional Club Fitter for Titleist South East Asia. Over the coming weeks we are asking everyone to send some questions in to us and we will post the answers right here in Team Titleist. We are looking for questions in regards to Club Fitting. So if you have been unsure about anything fitting related, here is your chance to get them answered. Get the questions in by the end of Thursday the 7th of June, and I'll select the top five to answer by video. The rest I'll get back to on this discussion board.

  2. Hi Shaun,

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to ask. I am an 18 handicap who has never been fit for golf clubs. How much of an improvement to my game do you think a club fitting will make. I'm currently looking for a new driver.

    Thanks.

Hi Jimmy L Thanks for your question about club fitting. All golfers will benefit from going through a clubfitting session, especially when it is your first time. A club fitting session allows the golfer to purchase clubs that are best suited to their swing characteristics. This will help you hit better, more consistent golf shots which should ultimately help you lower your score. Regards Shaun

Hi Shuan, I am 5'5" in height. Although I have no problem hitting standard length club, will it be better if I go for a shorter length club? How much distance lost will I be expecting? 1/2 club distance lost or more?

  5. Hi, I would like to ask if it is possible to configure the newport 2.6 to a face-balanced putter by adding a heavier weight at the heel with a lighter weight at the toe? Actually, it would benefit users like us if there is a custom SC facility here. Thanks.

Hi Hin Kai W, Thanks for your question about your Scotty Cameron Newport 2.6 . We do not recommend that golfers use different weights in the heel and toe of their putters to change the amount of toe flow or face balancing. Using different weights in the toe and heel moves the cg and alters the feel of the putter. We have found that selecting an appropriate head model, specifically the hosel location and offset, is a more effective manner to accomplish those goals. Regards, Shaun.
  7. How does one choose an appropriate shaft weight for irons? Thanks.

Hi There, I am looking for someone to help me with some putter fitting. I am not too sure what length, loft and lie would suit my putting stroke and also have questions as to which Scotty putter would be best for me. Please let me know who I can talk to or who I can see to get fitted. Thank you,

Hi 1U Thanks for your question about putter fitting. At the moment we do not have a putter fitting facility in South East Asia. I suggest going to see your local Titleist retailer to view the different models and styles of the current Scotty Cameron range. You can see our retailers at http://www.titleist.com.sg/dealers/default.asp If you are not in Singapore, just change the drop down box to your country to find your retailer. Regards Shaun.
  15. Hi Shaun, I am currently using a 910 D2 10.5 deg on the Motore SR 55g flex shaft. I'm wanting to switch to something with a stiffer flex, probably the graphite design tour ad Di. Because of the surfeit adapter, I'm just wondering where and how should I go about doing this? Many thanks!

Hi Eugene, Thanks for your question in regards to changing your shaft in your 910D2 driver. The best way to find out if changing the shaft does improve your driving is to come down for a fitting session and do some testing with your club versus an alternate shaft. If you would like to arrange a fitting session you can send me an email at shaun_moulds@acushnetgolf.com and we can book you a time. Regards Shaun
